THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rains are intensifying in the state. The central meteorological department has informed that in the next few hours there is a possibility of rain with thunder at isolated places in all districts of Kerala. The meteorological department also warned that there is a possibility of wind to blow at a speed up to 40 km per hour. This was informed by the state disaster management department.

Yellow alert has been issued in eight districts. Yellow alert has been sounded from Thiruvananthapuram to Idukki and Palakkad. The meteorological department has also informed that rains will intensify in South Kerala. The rains are due to the cyclonic storm over the central and western Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclone will become low pressure by Thursday.
