BRISBANE: India won by six runs in the warm-up match held before T20 World Cup. Australia need 11 runs in the last over but Shami’s excellent bowling secured victory for India. Although Cummins scored two runs from the first two balls of last over, four batsmen were dismissed in the remaining four balls. Thus Australia became all out for 180 runs. Only the first four batsmen scored double figures for Australia. Captain Aaron Finch scored 76 runs off 54 balls. Opener Mitch Marsh scored 35 runs off 18 balls.
Batting first, India scored 186 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. KL Rahul scored 57 runs off 33 balls. Suryakumar Yadav scored 50 runs off 33 balls. Kane Richardson took four wickets for Australia conceding 30 runs in four overs. For India, Shami took three wickets conceding just four runs in an over. Shami also paved way for a run out. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets conceding 20 runs in three overs.
