THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have issued a lookout notice for the absconding accused in the AKG Centre attack case. The notice was issued on behalf of Youth Congress Thiruvananthapuram district secretary Suhail Shahjahan, his driver Subeesh and Youth Congress worker T Navya from Attipra. The notice has been handed over to the airports.
The police found that they were the ones who provided all the help to the main accused Jithin. Suhail and Navya are absconding. Subeesh went abroad after the incident.
The scooter used by Jithin to attack the AKG Centre belongs to Subeesh. The police found out that it was Navya who delivered this scooter to Jithin at Gowreeshapattom.
After the attack, it was Navya who drove the scooter, handed over by Jithin, to Kazhakkoottam. The footage of this led the investigation to Jithin. Jithin went to Kazhakoota from Gaurishapatta in his car. The crime branch later recovered the scooter from the wreckage.
In the last local elections, Navya contested as a UDF candidate from the Attipra ward. Allegations were raised that Jithin bought the seat given to RSP by Congress to Navya. The local Congress leadership had also come out against this.
An explosive device was thrown through the hall's gate near the AKG Centre's main entrance at around 11:30 pm on June 30. Jitin was arrested after circling the police for two months.
