KOTTAYAM: The mango theft case, in which a policeman was named as accused, is likely to get settled. The fruit seller from Kanjirappally has filed an application in the Kanjirappally First Class Magistrate Court stating that he is not interested in proceeding with the case. The court will pronounce its verdict tomorrow. PV Shihab, a policeman of the Idukki AR camp, entered the fruit shop in Kanjirappally and stole mangoes on September 30. The police are yet to find Shihab, who went into hiding after the incident came out.

Shihab stole around 10 kg of mango worth Rs 600 per kg. The incident came to light the CCTV footage from the area surfaced. Following the incident, the DGP suspended Shihab on October 3.
