human-sacrifice

KOCHI: The police team probing the Elanthoor double human sacrifice case is considering unofficially subjecting the first accused Shafi to a narco-analysis test. Although the facility to conduct a narco-analysis test is available in Bengaluru, it can also be done in limited medical facilities by bringing expert doctors to Kerala. Narco analysis is a method of obtaining information from a person by sedating him by injecting controlled doses of drugs.

Although narco-analysis is not admissible in court, the information obtained through the test can facilitate investigations. This test is conducted unofficially in other states as part of the criminal investigation.

At present, Shafi is not completely cooperating with the police. Shafi and Bhagawal Singh were subjected to potency tests at Kalamasery Medical College. Sources said that it was confirmed that both of them are sexually potent. After receiving the report, the police may slap rape charges against the two.

Kochi City Police Commissioner CH Nagaraju said that Shafi and the other two accused knew to use social media. "Although the accused say many things, not everything can be believed. They are not revealing a few things. Evidence collection is underway. It is essential to strengthen the case. The police are waiting for the post-mortem reports of Padma and Rosly. Postmortem is difficult because the bodies are cut into several pieces. The accused chopped the bodies like a butcher. Organ selling is Shafi's scam," Nagaraju said. He also stated that police are examining some phones, including those of the accused.
