VIJAYAWADA: The Kerala representation in the CPI National Council shows the dominance of the state official leadership. Members of the Rajya Sabha, Binoy Viswam and P Santhosh, came to the national leadership on the quota of the All India Centre. Binoy will continue as a member of the Central Secretariat. Apart from Binoy, State Secretary Kanam Rajendran will also continue in the Central Secretariat.

Mahesh Kakkath, who became a candidate member of the National Council in Kollam when he was the State Secretary of AIYF, came out of the National Council as he vacated that position. Instead, AIYF's new state secretary TT Jismon became a candidate member.

Although former minister VS Sunilkumar's name was raised in the group meeting of Kerala representatives, he recused himself. Sunil was not included in the official panel.

While N Anirudhan was excluded from the National Council due to the age limit criteria, CN Jayadevan, N Rajan and TV Balan were also dropped due to other reasons. Ismail and Pannyan will be given veteran consideration and may be later made invitee in some category.

K Prakash Babu has replaced KE Ismail in the National Executive Committee. Pannyan Raveendran was an ex-officio member of the National Executive as the Chairman of the Central Control Commission.
