THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rain in the state. A yellow alert has been sounded in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts. IMD has warned that hilly areas and Lakshadweep will receive heavy rain. Rain will continue till October 22.
Waterlogging is continuing in various low-lying areas due to the continuous rains for two days. Traffic was disrupted on the Thiruvananthapuram-Shenkottai National Highway and the Thamarassery Pass due to landslides. Landslides also disrupted traffic near the Gate of Wayanad in Lakkidi. Farms in Alappuzha got flooded.

PSC has postponed the physical fitness test and physical measurement for the post of Police Constable scheduled to be held till October 21 in Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts to inclement weather.
