CHENNAI: V K Sasikala, close aide of former Tamil Nadu chief minister and AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa, said that she had never interfered with her treatment. She also said that she is ready to face any investigation.
Sasikala said that she had never stopped from taking Jayalalitha abroad for treatment and that her treatment was based on the collective decision of the medical team. Sasikala's response was after Arumughaswamy Commission’s report alleging Jayalalithaa's death as mysterious.
The commission recommended investigation against Sasikala, family doctor Sivakumar, then health department secretary Radhakrishnan and health minister C Vijay Bhaskar. The report said Jayalalithaa was denied expert treatment.
Jayalalithaa's life could have been saved if she had given proper treatment. Her death was announced after one and a half days. The commission also accused Apollo Hospital Chairman Dr Prathap C Reddy to have presented false information to the public.
