KOCHI: Eldhose Kunnappillil MLA, who was on the run after a case of sexual abuse was alleged against him, has returned to his home in Moovattupuzha. The MLA responded that he will prove his innocence in court.

'I had not left the state. Have informed everything to the court. A crime can be alleged against anyone. I have not committed any crime. I have never harmed any anyone till now and am not strong enough for that. Talked to K Sudhakaran on phone yesterday. Have explained everything to the party,' the MLA said.

The Thiruvananthapuram Additional Sessions Court had yesterday granted anticipatory bail to the MLA with strict conditions. The MLA will appear before the investigation team tomorrow. The court directed him to appear before the Thiruvananthapuram District Crime Branch from October 22 to November 1.

The prosecution is likely to file an appeal in the high court against the granting of anticipatory bail. The woman had yesterday responded that she sticks to her complaint against Kunnappillil. She also stated that although she is sad that he has been granted bail, she will not withdraw from the complaint.

Meantime, the KPCC is likely to decide today on the action against him. He had earlier given an explanation to the party stating that he is innocent. However, some leaders are angry for the MLA going hiding after the complaint.
