THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two people were taken into custody in connection with the murder of a goonda leader. After chopping the body into pieces, they were dumped in many places. Manu Ramesh and Shehin Sha of Valiyathura are the two in custody. They were taken into custody following an investigation conducted on the legs found from the garbage disposal center in Muttathara on August 14.
Police said the legs are that of a goonda leader in Tamil Nadu. Although it is clear that the leader, accused in many cases including brutal murder, was killed, his name and other details will be revealed only after a DNA test. The police came to the conclusion that the murdered is a goonda leader from the information collected of the missing persons in Thiruvananthapuram and Kanyakumari.
There has been an enmity between the two groups for years. Mother of Manu Ramesh in custody now, is a native of Kanyakumari. Not only that, Manu is an accused in some cases there. The goonda leader was summoned to the capital city with the intention of killing him. The murder was committed by Manu Ramesh. After the murder, the body was chopped into pieces and dumped in many places. Police said all these were done by Shehin Sha.
Although his feet was recovered, the remaining body parts were not found. All efforts are being taken to find these. The police have not disclosed where the evidence collection is taking place. The case is being investigated by a team led by Shanghumugham assistant commissioner.
