THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader K Muraleedharan MP has again criticized Perumbavoor MLA Eldhose Kunnappilly who is accused in a sexual assault case. “There has been a delay in taking action against Eldhose Kunnappilly. The KPCC will take action by today or tomorrow.”, said Muraleedharan to the media.
“It is true that he has got anticipatory bail. But the party’s stance is that he should not have been absconding. Earlier, when there was a complaint against Vincent MLA, he strongly faced it and proved his innocence. He again contested in the election and won. But when case came up against Eldhose Kunnappilly, he went absconding. Even the party did not know what was going on. That is why the party unanimously decided to take action against him. That decision will be implemented by the President at the right time. I am of the opinion that it should not be delayed. I hope that the action will be taken by today or tomorrow itself,” said Muraleedharan.
When asked about the laddu distribution by some supporters when Kunnappilly was granted anticipatory bail, Muraleedharan’s response was that it is better to distribute laddu after the final verdict. He stated that it was done without the permission of the party.
Muraleedharan came out against Kunnappilly yesterday also. He said that every party has such deviants and his personal opinion is that there was a delay in the party’s action.
