THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State-run Oushadhi said that Swami Sandeepananda Giri's ashram is a suitable place to set up its new wellness centre. Oushadhi took the decision to take over the ashram in the board of directors meeting held today. The District Collector has been tasked with fixing the cost of the land. Health Minister Veena George clarified that the Oushadhi governing body can decide matters legally.

Earlier, a team comprising Oushadhi Chairperson Shobhana George had visited the Ashram and gave a report to the Health Secretary that the place is suitable to set up a wellness centre. Following this, the board of directors decided to take over the land.

Oushadhi, a public sector organization working in the field of Ayurveda, is planning to start wellness centres in four districts, including Thiruvananthapuram.
