ALAPPUZHA: An eighty-year-old woman was found hacked to death in Alappuzha. She has been identified as Annamma Varghese of Charummoodu Koyikkapparambil. Her body was found in a rented house near Mulakkuzha Panchyayat Office Junction. Her nephew Rinju Sam (28) has been arrested in the incident.

Rinju, who turned violent attacked Annamma with a machete. He tried to kill his own parents, Sam and Rosamma, but they managed to flee. Police said the youth has some mental issues. Annamma has been living with Rinju's family for quite some time.

Rinju was an employee of a jewellery shop in Chennai. Following mental issues, he quit the job and reached home.
