KOTTAYAM: MG University staff CJ Elsy, who is under suspension in a bribery case, may be dismissed from service. The Syndicate accepted the inquiry committee's recommendation in this regard. The Syndicate entrusted the VC with further action. A four-member Syndicate Commission, Registrar and Joint Registrar of MG University conducted the investigation.

According to the report of the committee, Elsy had done such things before. It was found Elsy had received more than one lakh rupees from a Thiruvalla native student on several occasions for the speedy handing over of mark lists and provisional certificates. The Vigilance arrested Elsy on January 29 while accepting a bribe at the university.
