THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala on Saturday came up with accusations against the first Pinarayi-led LDF government. He demanded that corruption committed by the first Pinarayi government should be probed by the central agency under court supervision.
"The CBI should investigate the corruption and other scandals during the tenure of the LDF government under the supervision of the court. I had brought to light corruption in the Chief Minister's office when I was the Opposition Leader. The current government is now beginning to secretly implement some of those corrupt projects which were dropped then," Chennithala said.
"I had pointed out that M Sivasankar, who was Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister at that time, was the mastermind behind these scams. People have now realized the secret behind protecting the accused Sivasankar from the case," he added.
Chennithala, who alleged that the CPM-BJP nexus was behind the lack of progress in the case investigated by central agencies, demanded that the CBI should investigate the new revelations under the supervision of the court.
