BENGALURU: A minister has slapped a woman during a public event to distribute land title deeds in Hangala village of Chamarajanagar district in Karnataka. V Somanna, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Development, Karnataka, attended the title deed distribution ceremony of 175 people. Meanwhile, a woman spoke angrily to the minister for not giving her land documents.

During the commotion, the minister lost his calm and slapped the woman. Minister Somanna later apologized after the visuals of the incident was released through the media. The minister, who was supposed to arrive at 3.30, pm arrived two hours late. The slapping incident took place when the woman confronted him. Former Janata Dal leader M Srinivas had earlier slapped a college principal which became controversial in Karnataka. It was because he got angry when the principal was unable to explain the functioning of computer lab in the college. Even after being slapped, the woman touched the minister’s feet.
