THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM leader MA Baby has criticized that the Governor is behaving like a central government officer. He has lashed out against the Governor’s order demanding resignation of nine Vice Chancellors. He said that VCs were appointed as per the approval of the Governor.

Governor has ordered the resignations of nine Vice Chancellors. In his tweet, he asked for the resignations of VCs of nine universities including Kerala, Kannur, Fisheries, MG, Cusat and MG universities. He cited the recent Supreme Court order cancelling the appointment of Technical university VC and demanded their resignations. It is reported that five out of nine VCs are appointed by violating UGC guidelines. Five VCs were appointed from a single-member panel. Also, academic experts were not included in the search committee that appointed four VCs. He has ordered that the resignations should reach him by 11.30 am, tomorrow.
