THRISSUR: Minister R Bindhu said that the Governor's action demanding the resignation of Vice-chancellors of nine universities by tomorrow is unfortunate. “The Governor's action is a unilateral one. This is a deliberate attempt to create stagnation in higher education sector. This action will set back to the sector. The move to orphan universities cannot be accepted. The Governor might fire me for what I am saying. But I can’t keep mum,” said the Minister.
The Governor’s decision is an attempt to handcuff the government. Minister Bindu asked whether this has happened from any Governor till date. “This is an indication that the state universities are going to be taken over by fascist forces,” stated the Minister.
