KANNUR: The police will file a plea to get the custody of Shyamjith, accused in the murder case of Vishnupriya in Panoor, on Tuesday. The witnesses in the case will be Vishnupriya's friend from Ponnani and the neighbour who saw the accused leaving the house. The police had collected their initial statement the other day. As the court was on holiday on Sunday, the accused was remanded for two weeks after producing him at the Thaliparambu Municipal Magistrate's house. After the Diwali holiday, when the court meets today, the plea for his custody will be filed.


The accused will be taken to Vishnupriya's house to collect evidence once his custody is obtained. Evidence was not collected as her cremation was being held the other day. When the accused was arrested, all the evidence including weapons were found. Evidence will also be collected from the shops the hammer, gloves, mask, wood cutter, screw driver and chilli powder were bought.


Vishnupriya (23) of Panoor was killed on Saturday after she dejected him. She was found murdered inside her house in the afternoon. She was at her relative’s house to attend the last rites of her close kin. She came to her own house to change her clothes. She was found lying dead in a pool of blood when her mother came in search of her.
