KOLLAM: A complaint has also been filed against the Judicial First-Class Magistrate in the Kilikollur incident where a soldier and his brother was beaten up by the police. The Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad has submitted a complaint to the High Court registrar pointing out that there has been negligence from the Kollam Magistrate’s part in the case.

Soldier Vishnu and his brother Vignesh, who were beaten up by the police, were produced before the magistrate by filing a fake case. It is alleged that they were remanded as per the instructions of the police without allowing them to undergo treatment even though it was clear that they had been beaten up by the police. The complaint demands that legal action should be taken against the magistrate who did not intervene even after they mentioned about the custodial torture.

At the same time, the complainant, Vignesh, alleged that the other policemen were trying to escape without admitting their fault by putting the blame on officer Prakash. The CCTV visuals and the voice clip of the incident that have come out clearly shows that the police are at fault. Vignesh also asked if the police dare to release the entire CCTV visuals at the station.

The video released by the police stating that they did not beat up Vishnu and his brother Vignesh is considered to be a setback for them. It is also alleged that this move is to protect the suspended police officers. The Crime Branch investigation is ongoing in the incident. With the involvement of the military in the matter, the Crime Branch proceedings are proceeding at a rapid pace. The probe team has already recorded the statement of the complainant Vignesh.
