KOCHI: The government will approach the High Court seeking cancellation of the anticipatory bail granted by the Thiruvananthapuram Additional Sessions Court to Eldhose Kunnappillil MLA in the sexual harassment case. The government is planning to file a petition pointing out that Eldhose needs to be interrogated in custody and more evidence should be collected.

The court granted anticipatory bail to Eldhose in a case registered by the Kovalam police on the complaint of physically assaulting the woman. However, the government will point out in the petition that there is evidence of attempted murder and torture and the anticipatory bail was granted without considering these matters in detail. The lower court granted anticipatory bail on October 20. According to the government, although Eldhose had appeared before the investigating officer following the lower court order, he is not cooperating with the investigation.
