GANDHINAGAR: 12,000 kilograms of drugs seized will be destroyed in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Gujarat. He will be addressing a meeting on drug trafficking and national security in Gandhinagar. Chief Ministers and deputy chief ministers of Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajastan, Dadra and Nagar Havel and Daman and Diu will be attending the meet. After the meet, a total of 12,438.96 kg of seized drugs worth Rs 632.68 crores will be destroyed.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had decided to destroy 75,000 kilograms of confiscated drugs in 75 days to mark the country's 75th year of independence. Measures including raids were taken on a large scale in this regard. In July this year, more than 31,000 kg of drugs were destroyed in Chandigarh in front of the home minister. Two weeks ago, NCB destroyed 40,000 kg of drugs in Guwahati in Shah's presence. The Narcotics Control Bureau was able to complete its project in just 60 days.
