THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary MV Govindan said that the government will not give in to the Governor's stance in any way. He stated that they will do everything that is legally possible and will not leave any chance. He was responding to the Governor's letter to the Chief Minister demanding to sack Finance Minister KN Balagopal.
“Governor’s personal pleasure is irrelevant. The Chief Minister’s stance is important. The decisions taken by the CM and the cabinet is applicable to the Governor. The Supreme Court has clarified this,” said CPM state secretary. Govindan responded that the Governor has been taking such stances to create a favourable political space for BJP and RSS in Kerala.
“The Governor should remember that he is sitting in Chancellor's position by the benefit of the law made by Kerala. UGC does not says that Governor should be made Chancellor. There will be no compromise,” he added.
“The opposition leader’s claims about the ‘tempest in the teapot’ and ‘fake encounter’ should be seriously looked into. It is an attempt to trivialize the matter. This is a proof of the relationship with the Governor and the top Congress leadership has corrected the stance of the opposition leader”, clarified MV Govidan.
