KOCHI: A clash has broken out between SFI activists and students of the hostel union at Cochin University of Science and Technology. Many students were injured in the clash. During the clash, a group of students set fire to a hostel room. While a section of students are alleging that the hostel room was set on fire by SFI activists, the SFI has accused the other group of setting the room on fire. The police have started an investigation into the incident.

Hani, the secretary for the hostel mess, was gravely hurt in the assault. The hostel union alleged that a group of outsiders assisted the SFI employees in carrying out the attack.
