THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: MLA Eldhose Kunnappillil, an accused in a rape case, was subjected to a potency test on Wednesday. The District Crime Branch team subjected the MLA to the test at the Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital in connection with the collection of evidence. The potency test was conducted on the basis of the teacher's complaint that the MLA had sexually assaulted her.

The probe team led by DYSP P Anilkumar collected evidence from the suicide point in Kovalam, a guest house and a private resort.

The teacher had alleged that Eldhose Kunnappillil beat her and tried to kill her at the suicide point in Kovalam on September 14.

However, the MLA said that the dispute did not take place at the suicide point as claimed by the complainant but at the place opposite to it. The evidence collection lasted till 5.30 in the evening.

At the same time, it is learnt that the police will approach the High Court requesting the cancellation of the bail as the MLA is not fully cooperating with the investigation. There is also a move to record the arrest of the MLA. The court has directed him to appear for questioning till November 1.

Meanwhile, Eldhose has once again filed an anticipatory bail application. He filed the petition in the District Principal Sessions Court.
