KOCHI: The government informed the court that the forensic lab authorities had demanded 125 CDs to copy the footage related to the Assembly ruckus case and that they were trying to buy the CDs. The government asked the court to adjourn the trial as the procedures for this have to be completed. The Chief Judicial Magistrate R Rekha accepted the government's demand and adjourned the trial to November 30.
The defence counsel had earlier complained that the copy of the CCTV footage on the day of the incident was not provided along with the charge sheet. Instead of presenting CD, the crime branch team had presented documents related to the incident in court. The accused have a right to a copy of the documents. However, copies of the mainour need not be given to the accused. The accused used this loophole to demand the CD.
