CHENNAI: More are likely to be arrested today in the Coimbatore blast case killing one. The police conducted a search at the house of the relatives of Jamesh Mubeen, who was killed in the blast. His relatives and friends were questioned for hours.
The police informed that there was a big conspiracy behind the blast. There are reports that Jamesha Mubeen had planned a series of massive explosions. The police have seized his laptop. The accused, who bought explosives several times, stored them in Mubeen's house.
The investigation team is also probing how they bought the explosives. The police have written to e-commerce sites including Amazon to find out if they bought it online. If purchased online, who bought it and where it was delivered.
The five accused arrested in the case were released in three-day custody yesterday. Meantime, it is reported that the NIA will take over the investigation today. The Tamil Nadu government had earlier recommended handing over the case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
