KOCHI: The accused in the human sacrifice case have confessed that they used the same machete to sacrifice the two women in Elanthoor. The sharp knife was bought by massager Bhagaval Singh (68) of Elanthoor and the second accused as per the directive of the first accused Muhammed Shafi (52) of Vengola in Perumbavoor. It was Shafi who killed the two women.
Bhagaval Singh, who bought the knife, and his wife made arrangements for the occult practices and waited. Shafi, an expert in chopping the carcasses of wild elephants and extracting the bones, easily dismembered it. He used the knife of Bhagaval Singh to separate the flesh of women. Padmam (52), a resident of Salem Dharmapuri and Rosli (49) of Thrissur Vadakkancheri Vazhani, who lived in a rented house in Kaladi, were the victims of the murder.
The remand report produced in the court yesterday said the Kaladi police probing the murder of Rosli murder, has to find the weapon used for the murder. No surgical instruments were used.
Shafi brought Rosli to Elanthoor making her believe that he needed a helper to conduct a pooja for a family in Thiruvalla. She was the first one sacrificed. Padma was killed believing that this occult practice did not yield any results. The investigation team found that Rosli reached Changanassery alone and from there got into Shafi's vehicle and went to Elanthoor. The relatives of Padma and Rosli have come forward with a complaint that even after a month of the incident, they have not received the bodies of the two.
