KOCHI: The CITU came forward threatening a woman, owner of a gas agency at Vypin in Ernakulam. Reports said they threatened her demanding regularisation of four temporary workers. There is also a complaint that the owner's husband was beaten up by the protesters. The complaint stated that they are being ruled by their government and threatened to kill them.


A video of the union workers shouting at the owner has gone viral on social media. The video shows the union workers saying that they know to kill, asked her to close it and go, we belong the party ruling Kerala. A case has been registered by the Munambam police in the incident.

Another agency in the area entrusted this agency to distribute cylinders in some areas here. Four workers were appointed temporarily for this purpose. In the meanwhile, the gas distribution company has reduced the number of cylinders it supplies each day. With this, those temporarily appointed have no work now. When they asked to regularise them, the agency said that it was not possible. Following this, the workers joined the CITU and organized a strike in front of the agency.
