THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mystery shrouded the death of a 23-year-old youth last night. The youth died after drinking juice offered by his lover. He has been identified as Sharone Raj (23), son of Jayarajan of Parasala Muryangara J P House. Sharone along with his friend had gone to his lover’s house on October 14.

Sharone made his friend stand out and went inside her house alone. When he came back from the house, he told his friend that she offered him a juice and that he vomited and asked his friend to reach him home.

When his mother came in the afternoon, found him lying in an exhausted condition. He was rushed to taluk hospital and then to the medical college. He was discharged at night after no serious health issues were noticed.

The next morning he developed some sores in his mouth and could not even drink water. He was admitted to the hospital again. The examination conducted at the medical college on the October 17 showed that the functioning of the kidneys and internal organs was decreasing. He was subjected for dialysis thrice. Following that, he was shifted to ventilator. He died finally.

Doctors confirmed that something like acid had gone inside. Internal organs were found decayed. The youth told his relatives that he drank some kashayam and juice from her house. His brother said the youth vomited liquid which was blue in colour.
