KONNI: A complaint has been raised that a policeman extorted lakhs of rupees from a woman by saying that she would buy her a vehicle. The complaint is against Binukumar of Konni station. He initially took Rs 13.50 lakh from the woman saying that he would buy a car and give it to her.

The complaint is that after buying the car, he mortgaged it for another 10 lakhs. A private media reports that he extorted money from five women after joining the Connie station.

The policeman took Rs 2 lakh from the woman whose husband had died and about half a lakh rupees from others. Allegations were made against him even when he was working at Perunadu station.
