TIRUR: In a tragic incident, two children drowned in a pond while playing. The accident took place at Trikandiyur near Tirur Fire Force Office. The deceased have been identified as Aman Sain (3) and Riya Fatima (4). Aman Sain is the son of Kavungparambil native Naushad and Najla. Riya Fatima is the daughter of Parappuram native Rasheed and Rahianam. The accident took place in a pond known as Perunkollam pond in the area around noon today.

It is reported that the children, who were neighbours and relatives, had gone out of the house to play. After some time, the two went missing from the vicinity of the house. Following this, the family members searched the nearby Anganwadi. However, they were not able to find the two. During the subsequent search, they found the bodies of the children in the nearby pond. The bodies of the children are currently kept at Tirur District Hospital.
