THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The disagreement within KSU came out following the appointment of Aloysius Xavier as state president. Those who object this argue that electing Aloysius, who is older than KM Abhijith, the former state president, will weaken KSU. Their stance is that they cannot agree with the appointment of a 29-year-old as the president when the age limit of 27 years is to be strictly enforced in the state committee and district committees. Since the president was elected without considering age limit, many who resigned will have to be re-instated when the State Committee is reconstituted.
Group A members are generally selected for the post of KSU state president for ages. It didn’t change this time. Oommen Chandy, who leads the A group, supported him along with VD Satheesan. Ramesh Chennithala faction publicized their dissatisfaction with the KSU reorganization through social media.
