THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The investigation team will question the female friend of Sharon Raji (23) of Parassala, who died mysteriously. The case probed by the Parassala police so far has been handed over to the crime branch. Soon after that, the female friend was directed to appear for interrogation. The investigation is by a team led by district crime branch DySP Johnson.
Sharon's family had approached the high court seeking a probe by the crime branch as mystery shrouds the death of the youth. The police have recorded the statement of Sharon's female friend in the incident. It is reported that Sharon drank the tincture (kashayam) which the girl was consuming and he drank the remaining of what she had drunk. Sharon's last WhatsApp message to the girl said that the juice he drank from her house was an expired one. He also mentioned that he drank the juice to get rid of the bitterness of the kashayam.
Th girl had told her friends that when Sharon asked whether the kashayam was bitter, she offered him her half-drunk kashayam. She told Sharon’s friend that she is sure that she had not given him any poison. Sharon drank the kashayam from her house on October 14 and later started vomiting. His throat pain turned severe on October 15 and the next day he was taken to Fort Hospital and later to medical college after his health condition worsened. The magistrate recorded his statement on October 20 and the police on 21st. In his two statements, he had not complained against anyone. He died on October 24 after 11 days of treatment.
