THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Greeshma, the girlfriend of Sharon Raj (23), a native of Parassala, who died after drinking an ayurvedic potion, has confessed to having poisoned him. This was done to get rid of him as another marriage was arranged for her.
Sharon's family alleged that she decided to kill their son because of superstition. The woman's family believed in a superstition that her marriage should take place before October and the first husband would die. Sharon's mother responded to the media that all these things have now been proven to be true.
On September 14, Sharon Raj, who had gone with her friend to Greeshma's house in Ramavarman Chirai in Tamil Nadu to retrieve his record book, returned vomiting and feeling unwell. He started feeling unwell after drinking the potion and juice given by the woman. He was later admitted to the hospital but died on October 25.
Earlier, WhatsApp chats revealed that Greeshma's family had a superstition that the man who marries her first would die soon. Sharon's family said that in order to prove that this is a superstition, he took Greeshma to Vettukadu Church, and tied a mangalsutra on her at home.
Greeshma planned the murder. In connection with this, police have found the woman's search history on Google. A special crime branch team started investigating the case last day.
