PERTH: India's batting collapsed in the T20 World Cup match against South Africa. It was Suryakumar Yadav's innings that brought the Indian team to a better level after losing all the top batsmen within 11 overs. The player scored 68 runs in 40 balls, thus helping India to score 133 runs. The Indian batsmen returned to the pavilion without spending much time at the crease due to the excellent bowling by Lungi Ngidi and Wayne Parnell.

Lungi Ngidi took four wickets and Wayne Parnell took three wickets for South Africa. Ngidi dismissed Rohit Sharma (15) in the second ball of the fifth over and KL Rahul (9) in the sixth ball and put India under pressure early on. India also lost Kohli in the seventh over. Suryakumar Yadav-Dinesh Karthik partnership led India to a score of 133-9.

South Africa also lost wickets early on. Arshdeep Singh took the wicket of wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock early in the second over, who scored just one run from three balls. Rilee Rossouw also returned without scoring any runs in second over. Captain Temba Bavuma scored ten runs in 14 balls and Mohammed Shami took his wicket in the sixth over. Currently, South Africa have scored 35 runs for the loss of three wickets after eight overs of the match. Aiden Markram and David Miller remain at the crease.
