DOHA: Mohanlal launched his musical album as a tribute to FIFA Qatar World Cup to be kicked off in Qatar on November 20. The song released in a function in Qatar was sung by the actor himself. Representatives of supreme committee, officials of the Indian embassy and office bearers of Indian Sports Centre attended the function.



The album is about Malappuram which considers football as its soul and its sevens football. This four-minute album says the football history of Malappuram to the World Cup nominees and fans. The song was composed as a tribute to Malappuram's love for football, Mohanlal said at the function in Doha. The lyrics of the song are penned by Krishnadas Panki and composed by Hridayam fame Hesham Abdul Wahab. The musical tribute video is directed by T K Rajeev Kumar. The album ends with Mohanlal's dialogue ‘time here stands still when the World Cup starts.’
