THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rain alert has been issued in several districts in Kerala as Northeast monsoon has strengthened. Although warning was issued in seven districts in the morning, yellow alert was declared in Thriuvananthapuram district by evening. It has been warned that northeast monsoon will strengthen in the southern districts and central Kerala. According to the Met office warning, yellow alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Malappuram districts today.

Yellow alert has been announced in six districts tomorrow. Alert has been issued in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam districts tomorrow. Heavy rain is likely in Kerala from October 31 to November 4 due to strengthening of northeasterly winds over Bay of Bengal and south India as part of northeast monsoon and cyclonic circulation. The rainfall is likely at isolated places in Kerala. The Met Office has also informed that there is a chance of thunderstorm with lightning at isolated places.
