KABUL: The protests in Iran, which began after police brutally beat and killed Mahsa Amini for not wearing the hijab properly, are yet to die down. Hundreds of people have been killed so far in that country. Last day, eight persons were killed in Mahabad in Iran when police opened fire at the protesters.

Protests like these are spreading to other countries as well. Reports of such protests are being reported from Afghanistan. It is reported that the Taliban is brutally attacking students who refuse to wear the burqa.

Yesterday, the Taliban stopped female students from entering Badakhshan University without wearing the burqa.

Following the Taliban’s attack, the students began to protest in front of the University. They chanted ‘ Women, life, freedom’ and ‘Education is our right’. Not surprisingly, this was the same chant that echoed in neighboring Iran also.

In a video being circulated on social media, the Taliban security forces are seen attacking students using a whip. Earlier, students were barred from entering Badakhshan University for not wearing the burqa. After that, the university ordered that the students wear only black clothes. This fueled the students' protests against the Taliban regime.

Meanwhile, the university president, Naqibullah Qazizada, confirmed to the media that the Taliban had attacked the students and ordered that veils be given to the students. However, the Taliban has denied this. The regime said that they had only sent two police officers to do some inquiry following protests at the university.
