THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have taken one person into custody in connection with the incident in which a woman was sexually assaulted while walking near the museum compound. The Peroorkada police took into custody the driver of Minister Roshy Augustine's personal staff. The police are currently interrogating him.

The woman was attacked on the premises of the museum last Wednesday morning. The woman told the police that she was attacked by a bearded man who got out of a car. The offender approached the museum grounds on foot and assaulted the woman after parking his car at the LMS junction. After this, he escaped by jumping over the gate of the museum, the woman said. The investigation was centered on the woman's statement and CCTV footage. The police have registered a case under the non-bailable section against the accused.
