Sthree. The Woman…an epitome of Compassion, Love and Sacrifice. She has sympathy and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others. She loves everyone and everything in the world and she would sacrifice herself for the betterment of others. This is the vision of womanhood instilled to human mind through generations. These are the qualities considered to be natural to, or characteristic of a woman. But what is been observed, seen and reflected in the recent events recorded in Kerala is a great antithesis to the above theorem.
Many women have been arrested in Kerala for murder cases but they have become notorious because of the different methods chosen for the murders. Jolly, the main accused in the Koodathai murders, Laila, the accused in the Elanthoor human sacrifice case and Greeshma of Parassala Sharon murder case... are the names that Kerala now hears with horror. Among these, Jolly, the accused in the Koodathayi cyanide murder case, was featured in the American daily ‘The New York Times’.
