KOCHI: The special team is all set to begin the investigation in the Chembarakki sexual abuse case including Mohammed Shafi, the main accused in the Elanthoor human sacrifice case. The statement of Manoj (44) of Pangod and his mother Omana (62), co-accused in the case, will be recorded soon. Omana had recently revealed that Shafi acquainted with her posing as an astrologer and he made her believe that someone had put a hex on her son in his liquor. A 75-year-old woman was subjected to brutal sexual abuse in her house. Police suspect this to be part of occult practice. Omana was not willing to respond to the media on the sexual abuse and physical assault. The special investigating team expect that a clarity would be obtained if questioned Omana and her son. Shafi and the others were arrested in the Chemabarukki case in 2020.

Shafi, who reached Perumbavoor with onions from Pune, asked Omana to bring a woman for him. She brought a woman with memory loss. Shafi abused her brutally. Manoj, who reached home chased Shafi from there. Seeing the old woman lying in the room, he inflicted injuries all over her body. He burnt her private parts with a candle. When Manoj went out, Omana wiped her wounds and dropped her home. The police started investigation after getting information from the medical college.

It is clear from Omana’s revelation that Shafi came here posing as an astrologer. He was into occult practices and made Omana believe that someone had put a hex on her son in his liquor.

It is sure that it was lottery seller Padma killed in Elanthoor. She was missing from Kochi. The DNA result confirmed it from some portion of her flesh found. The results of 55 body parts have to be obtained. The results are expected to get this month. The police said after that, the bodies will be handed over to her relatives. Padma’s son came to the fore alleging a delay in getting the body.
