THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: During a vehicle inspection conducted by Excise Inspector VN Mahesh at Excise Checkpost in Amaravila, 9.944kg of ganja was seized from passengers of 'Tipu Sulthan' bus. The arrested are Suresh alias Katti, Sijo Kamal and Sterin, residents of Shasthamkotta in Kunnathur in Kollam.

Based on the information received when they were interrogated, Sunil alias Mulakupodi, a resident of Neyyatinkara's Anavoor, who was waiting at Thampanoor to receive ganja from Andhra, was arrested and taken into custody with the help of Thiruvananthapuram Assistant Commissioner Vinod Kumar, IB Preventive Officer Shaju and AEI V Saji.

The four accused and the mainour have been handed over to the Neyyattinkara range office for further procedures. Along with Excise Inspector Mahesh, Assistant Excise Inspector Saji V, Civil Excise Officers Vinesh Krishnan and Praveen P were part of the inspection.
