KOCHI: 16 students were injured after a clash broke out between SFI and KSU activists at Maharajas College, Ernakulam. 10 SFI activists and six KSU activists suffered injuries. SFI unit president Amaljith Kuttiady and KSU leader Niyas Robinson were among those injured. The problems that started yesterday ended up in a clash today.
Clashes also took place in front of the Ernakulam General Hospital near the college. The injured SFI activists were admitted to the General Hospital. The KSU workers are undergoing treatment at the Indira Gandhi Cooperative Hospital. The college will be closed indefinitely in the wake of the clash. It was also decided to call an all-party meeting.
