BALARAMAPURAM: Five were injured after a trailer truck loaded with dismantled aircraft materials hit a KSRTC bus. The incident happened Wednesday early morning at Balarampuram Junction. The accident happened when the truck was proceeding to Hyderabad with parts of Air India’s Air Bus A 320 which was lying at the Thiruvananthapuram Airport.

The wings of the plane hit the KSRTC bus near the narrow Thaikappally road. The bus has been damaged completely. The injured bus driver and other passengers were immediately shifted to the hospital. Transportation came to a standstill for hours after the incident. The lorry driver fled from the spot. The truck was shifted to a place near the Amaravila toll gate by 5 am. Police said the injured returned home after required medical treatment.

The Balaramapuram police registered a case against the driver and owner of the plane for transporting it without following safety norms.
