KASARGOD: The police arrested a youth in connection with the suicide of a college girl. Abdul Shuhaib of Alamipally was arrested over the suicide of his friend Nanda of Kanhangad. Police said she took the drastic step following the threat of Shuhaib. He was taken into custody last night and his arrest was registered Thursday morning.

Nanda was a student of Kanhangad C K Nair Arts College. She was found hanging on Monday. It was found that she had video-called Shuhaib before ending her life. He was arrested following an investigation.

The two were in a relationship and recently there were some issues in their relationship. He threatened to circulate her pictures on social media. Following that, she ended her life, the police said. He is being interrogated.
