MANNARKKAD: The Mannarkkad court has given an unusual order to cross-examine the Magistrate after the prosecution for the Attappadi Madhu murder case submitted a plea at the court. The order is to cross-examine the Special District Court Magistrate, N Ramesh.

The court also ordered to bring the Magisterial investigation report. The court also allowed the cross-examination of former Ottapalam Sub Collector, Jeromic George. After Madhu was killed it was N Ramesh, who conducted the Magisterial investigation on government order. Two Magisterial investigations and one police investigation were conducted in the Madhu murder case. One investigation was completed by Ottapalam Sub Collector and the other investigation was done by N Ramesh who was the Mannarkkad First Class Judicial Magistrate.

Both these Magisterial investigation reports were not in the case file. The investigation officer and the prosecution both did not give serious importance to these reports. Therefore both the Magisterial investigation reports did not find a place in the case file.

It was Jeromic George who completed the inquest of Madhu. He is the 95th witness in the case. It was during his cross-examination that he mentioned the Magisterial investigation. Both the Magisterial investigations were done to ascertain if Madhu had died in custody.
