THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has come up with an explanation on freezing the order raising the pension age in public sector institutions. He said that the order issued in the first place was frozen as raising the pension age is not a party policy. The Chief Minister gave the explanation at the CPM state secretariat. Pinarayi Vijayan informed that the decision came as a part of preparing the general framework of public sector institutions. The chief minister came up with the explanation aiming to end the controversy ahead of tomorrow's state committee.
Earlier, CPM state secretary MV Govindan had publicly expressed his displeasure over the government's decision to raise the pension age. Left youth organizations also came forward against the decision.
