arya-rajendran

Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran, who sent a letter to the district secretary of the party regarding temporary appointments in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, is facing a huge backlash on social media. As per the opposition, the mayor has violated her oath of office.

Youth Congress leader Rahul Mamkoottathil described the mayor as "India's youngest corrupt woman".

The mayor has written to Anavoor Nagappan asking him to provide the priority list of party members for appointment in 295 vacancies.

The letter was sent on the 1st of this month on the Mayor's official letter pad. The mayor 'requested' to give the priority list of candidates to the same after detailing the vacancies in the letter addressed as 'comrade'.

The letter signed by the Mayor also contains how to apply and the last date. The letter confirms the allegation that CPM sympathizers are being filled in important posts to temporary vacancies.

But Arya's response is that she is not aware of such a letter. The Mayor replied that she was in Delhi in connection with the DYFI's Parliament March, and that she would respond after consulting with the party.

District Secretary Anavoor Nagappan has also responded that he hasn't received the letter and will check it. Anavoor's said that mayor is in Kozhikode and couldn't get her on phone.
