THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president K Sudhakaran on Saturday said that the government job is not an auction in the street market to be put up for sale for the communists. He was responding to the appointment controversy raised against Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran.
"It is illegal for the Mayor to ask the CPM district secretary for the priority list for temporary appointment in the Corporation in violation of the rules. Therefore, the mayor should be expelled for violating the oath," Sudhakaran said.
"The requirement of party recommendation to get a government job is humiliating. Job seekers in Kerala are being insulted. All the appointments made in the government semi-government institutions during the CPM rule should be checked. Mayor and the party have insulted the youth of the state," he added.
The controversy erupted after the mayor sent a letter to CPM district secretary Anavoor Nagappan asking him to provide the priority list of party members for appointment in 295 vacancies.
